What is Ramadan?
Deepening our understanding of the month of the Quran.
The Month of Revelation
Ramadan is elevated by the Quran, as it was in this month that the first verses were sent down to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Cave of Hira. It stands as a beacon of light for guidance.
A Discipline for the Soul
Fasting (Sawm) serves as a spiritual shield. It is not merely the avoidance of food, but the refining of character—turning away from falsehood, anger, and worldly distractions.
Empathy and Unity
By feeling the pangs of hunger, we develop authentic empathy for those less fortunate. It is a month that breaks social barriers, as everyone stands in the same line for prayer and meal.
"Fasting is for Me, and I shall reward it."
— Hadith Qudsi
