About Checkers (Draughts)

Checkers, also known as Draughts, is a classic strategy board game for two players. One player has dark pieces, and one player has light pieces. Players take turns moving their pieces diagonally forward. The objective is to capture all of the opponent's pieces or block them so they have no legal moves.

How to Play

  1. Players move one piece diagonally forward to an adjacent unoccupied square.
  2. If an opponent's piece is in an adjacent square, and the square directly beyond it is vacant, you can "jump" over and capture the opponent's piece. Multiple jumps can be made in a single turn.
  3. If a piece reaches the farthest row from the player who controls that piece, it is crowned and becomes a "King".
  4. Kings can move both forwards and backwards diagonally, giving them a significant advantage.
  5. The game is won when you capture all of your opponent's pieces or block them from making any legal moves.
