The Purpose of HTML Comments

HTML comments are special notes within your code that the browser completely ignores; they are not displayed on the web page. They serve as an invaluable tool for developers to document their code, leave reminders for future updates, or temporarily disable a section of HTML without deleting it.

To add a comment to your HTML, you use the  syntax. It’s important to remember the exclamation point (!) in the starting tag, which is not present in the closing tag.
